Minna art market is a free DFW local art show that brings in anime and kawaii style artists to sell their wares for a day. It typically happens every 4 months with pervious events taking place in May and October. I attended a previous event when it took place at Music City Mall, but for the most recent show they moved to a venue in Carrollton. I arrived around 2:00pm and it was absolutely SLAMMED. Talking to others it sounded like it was even busier when they opened a few hours before I arrived. The crowds made it a little hard to really shop effectively, but I was able to see all of the artist booths with some patience. Doesn’t hurt that I’m tall either. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I ended up purchasing a few items. The first was a reusable sticker book from Chisorichan<\/a>. I have a lot of stickers and I can never bring myself to put them anywhere. This book has special pages that are like sticker backing paper so you can place your stickers in it without damaging them. Now I’ll have somewhere to keep my collection!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The other 2 items I picked up were prints from Gowavas<\/a>.
This sailor moon print immediately caught my eye. I love the simplicity of the art paired with such vibrant colors. I have an idea of where I’m going to hang her but I’ve got to take care of some things before it’s ready. I’ll try to share some picture over on instagram<\/a> when she’s up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The other item I got was this cowboy cat mini print. I don’t feel like I need to offer any more explanation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall this event is a fun way to kill a couple of hours on a Saturday and support local artists. I do hope they can find a larger venue for future events though as it was quite packed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
