Cova Color"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the most helpful tips I picked up from the community is that there IS a paint that will stretch enough to be useable to paint shoes and that paint is Angelus Leather Paint. Guys, this stuff is magical! I purchase mine from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.turtlefeathers.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Turtle Feathers<\/a>\u00a0because they are very quick in shipping and are very\u00a0competitively\u00a0priced. I used Angelus on my\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/kirakiracat.com\/index.php\/2011\/04\/30\/nefertiti-vivi-one-piece\/\" title=\"Nefertiti Vivi: One Piece\">Vivi<\/a>\u00a0costume and my\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/kirakiracat.com\/index.php\/2012\/06\/02\/kiyone-tenchi-muyo\/\" title=\"Kiyone: Tenchi Muyo!\">Kiyone<\/a> costume and so far both pairs of shoes are still in\u00a0excellent\u00a0condition with no cracks in the paint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When I was working on my\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/kirakiracat.com\/index.php\/2011\/09\/03\/mami-tomoe-pmmm\/\" title=\"Mami Tomoe: PMMM\">Mami<\/a>\u00a0costume though, I was afraid that I had waited too long to purchase the paint I needed to complete my boots in time so I went off to research if there was another brand of leather paint I could purchase locally. I discovered\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/tandyleatherfactory.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Tandy Leather<\/a>\u00a0caries its own brand of Leather paint, Cova Color. I decided to give it a try, and I can safely say Cova Color is not like Angelus and you should not use it to paint of faux leather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"174\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/kirakiracat.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/vs.png?resize=300%2C174&ssl=1\" alt=\"cova color leather paint vs. angelus leather paint\" class=\"wp-image-433\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">My Review of Leather Paint:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both of the products describe themselves as Acrylic Leather Paints. Angelus brushes on smooth and can stretch a fair amount but Cova Color comes out lumpy and cracks after just one wear. I\u2019m not sure if the lumpy texture of the Cova Color could be because I was using a\u00a0metallic. I haven\u2019t attempted to use a non\u00a0metallic\u00a0since my first experience. While it only takes 3-4 coats of Angelus to cover evenly I had to do upwards of 10 coats just to get the Cova Color to look somewhat smooth. I was painting a dark pair of shoes a light color, so I expected\u00a0to need several coats, but the splotchy nature of the paint made the coats uneven and I believe that contributed to needing more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I ended up repainting my Mami boots with Angelus but the damage was done and they are still showing some cracks. Luckily the are very small and not\u00a0noticeable\u00a0unless you are a foot away from my boot\u2026and why would anyone be that close to my foot?
