5) Yum-Yums<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When I was a little girl growing up the Kenner company put out a line of stuffed animals that all had a candy theme and they smelled like the candy. Jelly Bean Bunny, Peppermint Cat, Lemon Drop Lion\u2026My sister and I each collected a full set of these things. We had Yum-Yum plastic lunch pales and stickers. On one extra magical Saturday morning they released a Saturday Cartoon Special, something about saving the world from the sourpuss or some bull. I cannot find a single soul who knows what I\u2019m talking about whenever I talk about the Yum-Yums. Am I the only kid that grew up in the 80\u2019s that loved stuffed animals and candies? Apparently they\u2019re kind of popular in Japan, of course they are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4) Full Moon wo Sagashite \/ Arina Tanemura<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Full Moon wo Sagashite is hands down my favorite Anime \/ Manga ever. Originally a Manga first it was picked up for adaptation in the 90\u2019s before streaming gave the west easy access to shows. It\u2019s about a girl diagnosed with throat cancer who refuses an operation because it would jeopardize her ability to sing and God help her she has to sing or how will she ever find her lost love Eichi?!?!?!? Oh but God does help her, two Shinigami show up and give her the ability to turn into a 16 year old idol, because \"\u2728\"ANIME\"\u2728\". I watched the whole thing by downloading fan subs (which I do not condone at all now, FYI. The industry has made it so easy to legally access shows.) and I own all of the Manga. The series was licensed, but DVD sales were so low they only released a few discs. Because of all of this it\u2019s not an easy series to access, which is one of the reasons its probably not popular. I hope one day it gets re-licensed so more people can get exposure. Luckily the Manga is much easier to access since you can buy it from Viz, and it\u2019s definitely the better of the two, they deviated pretty quickly in the anime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This series lead me to discover the rest of the Artist, Arina Tanemura\u2019s work, which is arguably even more obscure than Full Moon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3) My Crazy Ex Girlfriend<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

My Crazy Ex Girlfriend is a new show that started last fall on the CW and it is all of my favorite things: Comedy, drama, random musical numbers! This show is smart and observant and follows the absolute mess that is Rebecca Bunch\u2019s life, who totally didn\u2019t move to West Covina, California because Josh Chan lives there. (P.S. She definitely did) While I\u2019ve seen a few random articles here or there praise it, I have yet to find an actual human person that watches this show.  It\u2019s a shame because it\u2019s incredibly entertaining and some of the musical numbers are absolute gold. I think my personal favorite is \u201cSexy Getting Ready Song.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2) Jutsu Wa Watashi Wa<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Jitsu Wa Watashi Wa was one of my favorite anime series of 2015. At first glance it might look like a harem series, but they make it pretty clear early on that the Male Lead has eyes for only one of the girls pursuing him. Everyone has a secret and some of them are pretty whacky, God of fortune eye glasses anyone? Shiragami, the main female character, is a delightfully adorable girl and I fell in love with her instantly. I even cosplayed<\/a> her\u2026and so far I can\u2019t find anyone else who has. Literally no one else on the internet has cosplayed from this show. How does that even happen with an anime these days?!? I think I know one other person that watched this when it was airing. I recommended it to a ton of friends, I don\u2019t think any of them listened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1) Sense Field<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At some point when I was in College I discovered the band Sense Field and they were a major part of the soundtrack to my life for those years. While they never billed themselves as spiritual, I couldn\u2019t help but find their lyrics to be deeply rooted in spirituality. So at a Time where I felt lost and alone for a hundred different reasons I listened to this band. I remember having a break in between morning classes just long enough to pop \u201cTonight and Forever\u201d in and take a nap. I remember ordering their entire discography from the local record store because no one stocked their CDs. Their biggest hit was probably \u201cSave Yourself\u201d and I think I heard it on TV in a promo for some Teen Drama once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
