What time is it? Adventure Time is a really crazy cartoon, at first you think it’s just nonsense and then one episode will hit you with how deep or well thought out it is. I’ve been watching it for a while and also following Nat, one of the artist on the show. Nat will draw some amazing fan art of Adventure Time and one of the things she did was create a gender swapped version of Finn and Jake. The fans went wild and it became so popular that in season 3 they did an official gender swap episode.
For my Fionna costume I both altered found pieces and made things from scratch. The top and socks are bought but the skirt, backpack and hat were all hand made. I used fleece for the hat and backpack. I patterned both myself. To ad some form to the backpack I padded the whole thing with quilt batting and stuffed the arm straps. I wanted to try to maintain the cartoonish shape while also making the backpack fully functional. I also did some slight wig styling, wanting to avoid the bulk of a full long wig I went with a bob and added wefts to the front and side to create the long fall. I also cut in the bangs.
