Haine had been a long time coming really. She was my half of C.C. Cosplay and my “cosplay trade.” I would cosplay Maru from XXXHolic if she cosplayed Ushio from Gentlemen’s Alliance +. It might have taken awhile but we finally made it happen for A-kon. It was interesting to coordinate making sure the uniforms looked the same without ever being able to get together. We agreed on fabric choice and sent photos to each other to make sure the markings were the same on both.
The uniform jacket is cotton sateen and fully lined. I also learned how to make a double welt pocket since for whatever reason they had them. The skirt is a simple pleated skirt but it’s also lined in a white casa satin. Arina Tanemura likes to draw a lot of little details so incorporating all of them is always interesting. Also, just as a personal aside…why in the world would any high school girl wear red hiking boots?
