As soon as I saw Parallel works 2 I knew I had to do this, it combines two great loves: TTGL and Magical Girls! I made the entire outfit in the span of a week (and didn’t kill myself).
Overall it was a fairly straight forward project. Everything is made using altered commercial patterns except for the cape, which I drafted myself. The skirt is two tiers, with the ruffle attached to the lining. All of the bows are faced with canvas to give them structure and that super kawaii magical girl look. The big butt bow is attached to the skirt with snaps and the star is fabric wrapped foam and polly fill with a craft foam back. Various accessories like the paw pads on the gloves and the star clips are made of craft foam.
