ZombieLand Saga was such a fun and unique series that came out in Fall 2018. I love a cute and easy costume for cons so I decided to crank out Sakura for ANT.
This project was quick and straightforward using a premade tee and adding a spandex applique. First I created a template for the pink design. I then transferred that onto the pink mystique fabric and used stretch heat n bond to secure it to the tee. For extra strength I just did a small zig zag stitch all the way around the applique. I think using this sparkly pink fabric adds a little extra idol umph to the otherwise basic tee design.
I made Sakura’s skirt from scratch using a basic pleated skirt pattern. I couldn’t find a fabric in a color I liked at the right weight so I flatlined some thinner Supema cotton to some basic white twill. This skirt also features a built in one tier petticoat with a lace trim on the end.
To get the polka dot pattern on Sakura’s shoes and bow I used paper hole punch re-enforcement stickers and small circle stickers as stencils and just used fabric paint to create the patterns.
